Whiskey Candied Bacon | This Is Why I’m Full
I have the coolest sister in the whole world, because she made this delicious Whiskey Candied Bacon for the hubby for Christmas. Which means that I got to eat some (most) of it! And it was so delicious that we made it ourselves!!!!
I don’t know if you have ever candied bacon before, and if you haven’t I warn you, it does take a little work and can get a tad bit messy, but the end result makes it worth all of the work you put into it! When you candy bacon it almost takes on a life of its own. The bacon transforms from a simple and delicious salty treat to a sweet, sticky and powerful meld of flavors you didn’t even know existed before. Any fat that was a part of the bacon before you bake it becomes crystallized melt-in-your-mouth goodness that will leave you wanting more!
Candying bacon is easy, when you think about traveling through the rest of your life without this delicious treat, breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert, snack-time, second breakfast, teatime, elevensies, none of these meals would be the same without candied bacon. (sorry for the Lord of the Rings joke, I couldn’t, help it!)
My sister used Jack Daniels Tennessee Honey to make this, but from what I read you can use really any whiskey and get the same result, you just might want to add some extra sugar to cut the bite of the whiskey! (unless you like the bite, only some people do)
